How I Missed The Reddit IPO

I’ve been a moderator on Reddit for about a decade now. I’ve spent considerable time there trying to build communities, create content, and just learn new things in general. I give the social network a lot of credit for the way it’s been created over the years as compared to X or Meta or Snap. But more importantly, Reddit was set to reward people like myself with a Pre-IPO allocation for years of hard work at a price below its opening values.

Here’s the message I got from their team one month ago:

Life moves fast. I remember reading it, and thinking, I’ll get to it. Before I knew it, my daily life, fatherly duties, swept all of this away and the deadline had passed.

I have no idea if I would have made a great trade by getting this pre-IPO allocation, but what I think is important is the lesson that I have to remind myself all the time of in this market, economy, and other life lessons:

There’s always an opportunity out there, no matter what, and while you may occasionally miss a few, there will be plenty more down the road.
